The governing body of our church is called Church Council.  It consists of four officers: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, plus six trustees.  Officers and Trustees are elected, by vote of church members, in October at an Annual Meeting which also includes reports from the Minister, Church Council President, Treasurer, Religious Education Director, Chair of Budget and Finance, and Chair of the Nominating Committee.

Church Council conducts the business of the church, manages financial affairs, and communicates with church committees by having one Church Council member be a liaison to each of them.

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Canton is a Fair Share congregation, supporting both the St Lawrence District and Unitarian Universalist Association at the suggested level for our membership numbers.
